A verb conjugation is a list of the six possible forms of a verb (I, you, s/he, we, you, they) for any given tense (present, past, future, etc.). Unlike in English where verb forms do not change much according to the person/thing that is doing the action, in French, verb forms change constantly according to who or what does the action. There is one verb form for each of the six subject pronouns (I, you, s/he, we, you, they).

The main regular and irregular verbs of which you need to know the conjugation are grouped into the following sets.
