Guided Conversation Group - Detailed Informations
WHAT IS A GUIDED CONVERSATION GROUP?
TandemPlus is organizing small conversation groups of students who are currently enrolled in 2nd year Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Freanch, German or Spanish classes. The conversation groups are meant to provide you with some additional conversation practice, but not meant to replace your class work. Each conversation group starts in the 3rd week of the semester and ends two weeks before the final week.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Guided conversation groups will:
- Be theme oriented (which means we talk about certain topics that the group leader provides. It is a little more organized than having a "free conversation," but we can still meet over coffee);
- Be led by a conversation leader who is not necessarily a native speaker, yet has studied abroad and is very fluent in a target language
- Consist of two to three students who are currently enrolled in 2nd year language classes
- Meet once a week for 50 minutes each week
- Be funded by the CLA Language Center. This means we can get together for coffee, a movie or other activities at no cost to you!
WHAT AM I COMMITING TO?
If you sign up, we ask that you make sure you can commit to meeting with your conversation group once per week every week in the semester (except the first two and last two weeks of the semester).
