The Language Center Multimedia Lab for students is open Monday through Friday, day and evening for students' use. Computers available for use include 16 Dell computers running Windows XP and 11 iMacs. There is a quick check station with one Mac and one PC for quick printing and checking email without checking in to the lab.
Printing is available at a cost of ten cents per page. Students can add value to their Gopher Gold cards to pay for prints by using the Value Port located in the lab.
There are four video stations for viewing international satellite TV, NTSC, PAL and SECAM video tapes and DVDs both PAL and NTSC from any zone. There is also a DVD recorder where students can easily create a DVD from video recordings created for class projects.
Students can use small room 135B for group projects, recording audio with the digital Marantz recorder or watching international programming on a large 27" screen with small groups.
Students working with video for class projects, can make use of iMovie and iDVD on the Mac computers. Student lab attendants are always on hand for students who need assistance.
Students taking their Oral Proficiency Interviews can enter the Testing Office 137A, through the Multimedia Lab, 135.
