BOSSA: Planning for Fall 2018

BOSSA was created for students learning a second (or third) language at the U of M. It gives students opportunities to practice assessing their own language ability and to reflect analytically about ways they use language to develop their language proficiency.

If you are an instructor who has not participated in BOSSA in the past, but are interested in potentially including it in your Fall 2018 course, please contact the BOSSA team to get started.

Welcome to the Language Center

The Language Center supports the teaching and learning of languages with technology.

Facilities include four computer classrooms, a multimedia lab for students, video conferencing equipment to connect to language courses via the BTAA CourseShare program as well as checkout equipment and a DVD library.


The Language Center instructional team provides assistance to language instructors developing courses.

The TandemPlus program finds conversation partners for language students.

The Language Testing Program provides language proficiency assessment.
