International Satellite TV

View international satellite TV programs in 11 different languages. Programming is available daily on 2 channels (channels 3 and 7) in the Language Center.

Satellite TV may be viewed in any of the Language Center classrooms, the Multimedia Lab rooms 135 and 135B, and small rooms 21, 25, 105A and 110D. View satellite TV on a walk-in basis in the Multimedia Lab Room 135 or reserve any of the small rooms in advance through the reservation request system.

Instructors may request recordings of specific programs for instructional use. When making requests, remember:

• Fill out a Satellite TV Request Form (pdf). The Satellite Request Form is also available in the Language Center, Jones 110.
• Submit completed requests to the Language Center Main Office, Jones 110, or email completed request forms to lccs@umn.edu.
• Instructors should bring their own blank media (either a blank DVD+RW or a blank VHS tape) for the recording. Note that Sony & Memorex brand DVDs work best.
• Instructors should expect to wait at least a week before receiving their recording.
• The Language Center will contact the Instructor when the recording is finished via the email provided on the Satellite TV Request form.
• Follow Fair Use guidelines when using recordings because they are copyrighted.
• All requests should be made at least 48 hours before the TV program is aired.
